Designed in the UK in April 2020 and funded by thousands of backers worldwide through crowdfunding platforms Indiegogo and Kickstarter, Briiv is an innovative room purifier and elegant piece of furniture that replaces the use of usual plastic filters and UV lights with 100% natural elements.

AN ECO-FRIENDLY ALLY IN YOUR HOME

Briiv’s official presentation video

Filters typically used in home air purifiers, called HEPA, are neither biodegradable nor recyclable. Approximately 6,000 tons of these filters reach landfills each year and take thousands of years to decompose. HEPA filters are the same as those used in medical equipment and PPE.

It is estimated that since the beginning of the pandemic, their numbers have dramatically increased since the massive use of masks, further exacerbating the situation of open dumps. Although its use in medical equipment and PPE is necessary, at least in our homes, thanks to Briiv, we can avoid using artificial plastic filters to purify the domestic air today.

Briiv uses plants and plant-based filtration systems that effectively combat air pollution and require no maintenance or irrigation. It generates no artificial waste, is fully biodegradable, and offers a healthy, natural, and designer alternative to the non-recyclable products flooding the market.

MINIMAL DESIGN BETWEEN NATURE AND NANOTECHNOLOGY

The filter features a special dry moss that purifies the air by trapping harmful particles, killing microorganisms, and releasing fresh, clean air. Underneath the moss are several biofilters made from coconut, hemp, carbon, and wool microfiber fibres that combine to filter particles as small as 0.3 nanometers in size. The filtration system traps and neutralizes over 99% of bacteria, mould, and other volatile organic compounds. The amount of fresh, natural air this little device provides is equivalent to that produced by more than 3,000 household plants!!! Its filters, which can be replaced in seconds, can be easily disposed of and composted simply by throwing them in the separate wet waste collection.

Briiv is a winning combination of the power of nature and high technology. With a design that looks like a cross between a terrarium and an Apple HomePod, Briiv is a modern, stylish-looking contemporary that adds a touch of green to your home. It will be like having a mini forest in your home! Briiv doesn’t need watering or sun exposure and has intelligent features that allow you to connect it with Alexa, Google Assistant, or the proprietary app. You can turn the timer on and off from your phone and be notified of filter status and replacement. Clinical tests show that a short filtering cycle of one hour quickly purifies the air of 36m²of surface area, trapping up to 99.9% of microparticles, microorganisms, mould, and odours.

conclusions

Nothing similar to Briiv on the market, either for functionality or design. The materials are excellent, both to the eye and to the touch. The refined and minimal design turns it into a beautiful piece of furniture that will make its mark in every room of your house. You can find more information and purchase this fantastic air purifier directly from the manufacturer’s website.
